Westborough United Reformed Church is an evangelical, charismatic cell church, centering on Bible teaching and supporting one another as we put God’s living word into practice. Jesus died and rose again from the dead to save us from our sins, build His Church, and destroy all the works of the evil one, setting people free. God answers prayer, and so we look for the guidance of the Holy Spirit and His empowering of us, trusting to see signs accompanying our faith.

We believe that the great commandments: to love God, love our neighbour, and love each other and the great commission: to go and make disciples are spoken to each and every Christian, not just a special few. In order to assist us in our worship, service, evangelism and fellowship, Westborough Church is a ‘Cell Church’. We meet in small groups during the week as well as together on a Sunday morning, in order to better grow as a church numerically and in Christian maturity. Cells enable us to learn together, share together, pray together, and encourage each other in personal evangelism.

Ministry is the right and responsibility of every single Christian. We meet in Cells to enable each other to exercise our God given ministries. We delight in the witness of the other Christian churches in Guildford, and support joint ecumenical projects. But as well as being constantly in prayer for our own friends and colleagues and family members, we recognise too our own particular responsibility before the Lord for those who are living in our immediate area here in Westborough.

We are engaging in a local door to door prayer visitation, visiting local streets and inviting local people to share with us any needs or prayer concerns. Revisiting those prayed for, we hope to see people set free in Westborough to love the Lord Jesus, and that they will themselves be led to praying for their own neighbours and friends too. We also run Christianity Explored courses for those interested in finding out more about Jesus,  CAP Money courses which teach simple money management principles and basic cookery courses to help young mums.
