Cookery Course (and Cookery Club)
Our Basic Cookery Course for Carers has now started. Meeting on Monday mornings, from 10.30am-12.30pm, the course aims at helping slightly older folk who find themselves suddenly having to cook and care for their loved ones.
We have three participants on the course at the moment, and we are enjoying sharing traditional, family recipes together. The current course ends at the beginning of December, and we are hoping to run another course in the Spring of 2010, probably on Friday mornings.
If you know of a friend who might welcome such an opportunity to learn how to cook simple, basic family meals, please speak to Graham Hoslett on 07748501092.
We are also in the middle of our fourth Basic Cookery Course for young parents, running on Fridays, 12.30pm-2.30pm. Four young parents are attending the course. So far we have cooked fruit crumbles, fruit smoothies and rock cakes, home-made pizzas and butterscotch tarts, lasagnes and cottage pies and simple salad dressings. This coming week we shall be cooking cakes and making drop scones.
A creche is offered, and there is no charge for attending the course. We shall be offering another course for anyone interested in learning how to cook simple, basic family meals, in the Spring. If you are interested, please ring Graham Hoslett on 07748501092.
We have started a Cookery Club for those who have completed the Cookery Courses, normally meeting every other Wednesday, from 2.30pm-4.30pm. If you are interested in helping at the Cookery Club or joining in with it, please speak to Graham Hoslett. Cost £3 towards ingredients.
